#22 Rendezvous With Kitchen Flavours

My Favourite Cuisine : I am going to say global. I am trying to abolish the idea of xenofoodophobia from my gastronomic vocabulary.
My Favourite Book : I have several, at the moment, I am reading “Three Cups of Tea”, by Greg Mortenson and this might very well be my favorite one! I am also reading “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man”, by John Perkins and this is also my favorite so far. I am actually reading them both at the same time!
My Favourite Film : “Slum dog Millionaire” and “School of rock” I cannot decide!
My Favourite Passtime (Interest) : “ Definitely skiing!
My Favourite Place : Breckenridge, Colorado ski summit which is 14,000 ft above sea level where I can be together with my Mom . She passed on in 2006.

T&T Tasty Palettes : Tomato Rice & Watermelon Granita

Tried and Tasted (T&T) is a event to explore other foodies tastes, appreciate them and confirm that their recipes are worth it says Zlamushka of Zlamushka's Spicy Kitchen who is the brainchild of this event. Many a times I get stumble upon the diversity of many rich, luscious and delish recipes and bookmark them to cook and taste. Through this T&T event I not only get introduce to new food blog's but also tasting awesome, creative, traditional, simple and yummy recipes. This month host for T&T event this month is Tasty Curry Leaf of Experiments,Emotions,Experiences with food. Tasty Curry Leaf has chosen Tasty Palettes by Suganya for T&T this month. Now coming to
Tasty Palettes by Suganya, where you can virtually feast with your eyes. Luscious, tempting, attracting, delighting recipes and the photography of the pictures tempt you to bookmark and try each and every recipe. Time, weather and atrocious power cuts restrict me with these two recipes. There are lot more in my 'favourites' waiting to be tried and tasted from Tasty Palettes. I made hot, spicy and flavoursome Tomato Rice and cool, refreshing and pleasant-tasting Watermelon Granita from Tasty Palettes by Suganya. I simply followed the procedure listed by her in making these two recipes. You can find the recipe's for Tomato Rice and Watermelon Granita here and here.

VERDICT: This is for the first time I made Tomato Rice and it tastes yum. I like the combination of flavourful spices and tangy taste of tomatoes clubbing with hot basmati rice. Coming to Watermelon Granita, it was cool, juicy and scrummy. Thank you Tasty Curry Leaf for choosing Tasty Palettes, Zlamushka for T&T event and finally Tasty Palettes for luscious recipes and drooling pictures.

Strawberry Milkshake

Luscious, attractive and gorgeous looking strawberries come with many health nutrients that are helpful for human body. These pretty fruits are also called "The Queen of Fruits". Strawberries can help you combat heart disease with its undivided potassium, fiber and folate. Studies have proven that potassium can significantly lower blood pressure, which may then reduce the risk of heart disease. Fiber, both soluble and insoluble, also lowers the risk of both cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. Strawberries help you lose weight, due to its high fiber content and aspartic acid, so they are often included in a weight loss diet plan. The role of aspartic acid is to remove excess toxins from your body. Strawberries are thought to be among the strongest of all anticancer foods, and a recent study found that those who consumed the most strawberries in their diet were up to 70% less likely to develop many types of cancer's. A simple way to indulge with thsese healthy berries is to make a milkshake.

Strawberry Milkshake

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1/2 cup Strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 2 cup Milk, boiled and cooled
  • 2-3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Honey

Strawberry Milkshake

PREPERATION:

  • Blend strawberries, sugar and milk until smooth and add honey before serving.
  • Last but not least add your 'love' to make the dish 'YUMMY'.
