#9 Rendezvous With Kitchen Flavours

New sunday new guest new flavour. Iam happy to have Sahaja of My Experiments In Kitchen to be my guest in Rendezvous With Kitchen Flavours. Sahaja of My Experiments In Kitchen says "To be honest, I have never cooked at home [an year before] and now what all I ccok is mostly shared by friends over here or collegues…I started as a necessary action to live amidst meat eating majority since I am a veggie but now I am in love with cooking and is one of the most wonderful things I have learnt after I came to UK [ professional development apart :-) ]".

Apart from cooking Sahaja of My Experiments In Kitchen says the following are "My Five Favourites":
Favorite Cuisine – undoubtedly maa ki haath ka khaana :) somehow there seems a special touch in mom's food right? Else Indian and indo-chinese
My Favorite Book – Fountain Head by Ayn Rand (all time favourite)
My Favorite Film – 'Maya bazaar' in Telugu and 'Dil chahta hai' in Hindi
My Favorite Pastime – Music music music [ofcourse cooking is already counted I guess]
My Favorite Place – My home

Sahaja of My Experiments In Kitchen lists her "Five Favourite Recipes" in her own style.

1. I love Pulihora tamarind one…..Umm…Yummy and I can eat it at anytime of day. Pulihora - Tamarind rice here is the recipe of the first ever pulihora I made :-)

2. I have to have pongali on every saturday evening with lemon pickle if I am at home. My recipe [again made for first time with mom's instructions] is here Kattu Pongali - South Indian dish- lentils and rice combo ….but ofcourse I love when my mom makes it.

3. I love Manchuria….I tasted it first time at college and was so reluctant at first but it's a compulsory dish if I am going to a north Indian restaurant/indo-chinese restaurant. My debut recipe here [read in a recipe book though] Gobi Manchurian My best friend loves it as well.

4. This is a new love for me…. muffins …when I was in India, I saw only in cartoons –dexter lab – but after coming to UK, I not only liked them but found a way to make eggless ones :D …this I can say is my innovation :D the recipe is Apple Muffins -eggless.

5. And I love muntha masala ….Yum yum…its slightly different from bhel puri but love this better….here is the grandmom's stolen recipe :-) Muntha Masala - spicy puffed rice snack and I love it when she makes too :-)
