This lazeez dessert is going to participate in SWC - ANDHRA PRADESH event hosted by Indian Hut, event WYF Party Food hosted by EC of Simple Indian Food and also in FIC BROWN hosted by Tongue Ticklers. I also like to send this to Aparna who is celebrating her Blog's first Birthday in a unique style. Happy Birthday "My Diverse Kitchen".
INGREDIENTS: - 12 Bread slices
- 4 cups Milk
- 2 cups Water
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Cardamom powder
- handful Cashewnuts
- few Saffron strands (soaked in lukewarm milk)
- Ghee for frying
PREPERATION: - Trim the edges of bread slices and dry them for an hour. (You can sundry them or just leave it under the fan with each slice seperately placed).

- In a pan add ghee and fry cashewnuts till they turn lightly brown and set aside.
- In the same pan, deep fry the bread slices by adding ghee (fry till slices are golden brown, but do not burn them).
- By combining sugar and water, make a syrup. Add cardamom powder to this and bring it boil. Cook till you get a thick consistency.
- Now soak the bread slices one by one in lukewarm milk and set aside.
- When all the bread slices are soaked in milk, add these slices to the sugar syrup ans also add saffron strands soaked milk. Mix well.
- Cook for 3-6 minutes on a very low flame or cook till you get thick consistency of the dessert.
- Garnish with fried cashewnuts and serve warm or cool.
- Last but not least add your 'love' to make the dish 'YUMMY'.

NOTE : It is important to taste the bread before cooking. If you are using a sweet bread then reduce the quantity of sugar. You can also use deep fried almonds, pistachio and raisins.
